Ingredients:
- 3 lbs apples, peeled, cored, and chopped into 1-inch chunks
- 2 tbsp lemon juice, freshly squeezed
- 1/2 cup pure maple syrup
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp fine sea salt
Instructions:
- Place the chopped apple chunks into the slow cooker basin. Drizzle the lemon juice over the apples and toss them gently to ensure every piece is coated.
- Pour the pure maple syrup over the fruit. Sprinkle the cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt evenly across the top, then stir until the apples are glistening and spices are evenly distributed.
- Cover with a tight-fitting lid and cook on High for 3-4 hours or on Low for 8 hours, until apples are translucent and soft.
- For a rustic, chunky consistency, use a potato masher to break down the fruit directly in the pot. For a velvety finish, use an immersion blender until the sauce is completely smooth.
