Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground turkey
- 1 cup sliced button mushrooms
- 1/2 cup diced green bell pepper
- 2 cloves minced garlic
- 1 cup low-sugar marinara sauce
- 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 2 cups shredded low-moisture mozzarella
- 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves
Instructions:
- Heat the skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground turkey, breaking it apart with a spatula until it reaches a deep brown color.
- Stir in the garlic, mushrooms, and peppers, sautéing for 3–4 minutes until the vegetables soften and edges begin to caramelize.
- Lower the heat to medium. Pour in the low-sugar marinara and oregano, stirring constantly for 2 minutes until the sauce thickens.
- Stir in the parmesan cheese until fully melted.
- Divide the mixture evenly among four oven-safe ramekins.
- Top each bowl with a generous layer of shredded mozzarella.
- Place the ramekins under the oven broiler for 2–3 minutes until the cheese is bubbling and develops mahogany-colored spots.
- Garnish with fresh basil leaves and optional red pepper flakes.
