Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup (150g) granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp (5ml) vanilla extract
- 2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp (5g) baking powder
- 1/2 tsp (3g) salt
- 1/4 cup (50g) multi-colored sanding sugar
- 24 pieces Hershey Kisses
Instructions:
- Cream the softened butter and sugar in a large mixing bowl until the mixture is pale and fluffy.
- Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until fully incorporated.
- Stir in the flour, baking powder, and salt until a soft dough forms and no dry streaks remain.
- Scoop approximately 1 tablespoon of dough and roll it into a 1-inch ball.
- Roll the dough ball in the sanding sugar until the surface is completely coated.
- Place balls 2 inches apart on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 8–10 minutes, or until edges are set but centers look slightly soft.
- Immediately upon removing from the oven, press one Hershey kiss firmly into the center of each cookie.
- Let the cookies cool on the pan for 5 minutes to allow the chocolate to set.
