Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup (150g) granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp (5ml) vanilla extract
  • 2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp (5g) baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp (3g) salt
  • 1/4 cup (50g) multi-colored sanding sugar
  • 24 pieces Hershey Kisses

Instructions:

  1. Cream the softened butter and sugar in a large mixing bowl until the mixture is pale and fluffy.
  2. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until fully incorporated.
  3. Stir in the flour, baking powder, and salt until a soft dough forms and no dry streaks remain.
  4. Scoop approximately 1 tablespoon of dough and roll it into a 1-inch ball.
  5. Roll the dough ball in the sanding sugar until the surface is completely coated.
  6. Place balls 2 inches apart on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  7. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 8–10 minutes, or until edges are set but centers look slightly soft.
  8. Immediately upon removing from the oven, press one Hershey kiss firmly into the center of each cookie.
  9. Let the cookies cool on the pan for 5 minutes to allow the chocolate to set.
