Ingredients:
- 2 cans (21 oz / 595g each) apple pie filling
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup old-fashioned rolled oats
- 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup cold and cubed unsalted butter
- 1/4 tsp salt
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a 9x9 inch square baking dish or pie plate with butter or cooking spray.
- Empty both cans of apple pie filling into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly with a spatula. Stir in the ground cinnamon if using a deeper spice profile.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, rolled oats, brown sugar, and salt.
- Add the cold, cubed butter to the flour mixture. Use a pastry cutter or forks to work the butter into the dry ingredients until the mixture resembles coarse wet sand with some pea-sized lumps.
- Sprinkle the crumble topping evenly over the apple filling, keeping the topping loose rather than pressing it down.
- Bake for 30–35 minutes until the filling is bubbling vigorously around the edges and the topping is deep golden brown.
