Ingredients:
- 2 lbs Lean Ground Beef (80/20 or 90/10)
- 1 large Yellow Onion, finely diced
- 2 cloves Garlic, minced
- 1 tsp Fine Sea Salt
- 1/2 tsp Black Pepper, freshly ground
- 1 cup Dill Pickle chips, chopped
- 3/4 cup Mayonnaise
- 2 tbsp Yellow Mustard
- 2 tbsp Sweet Pickle Relish
- 1 tsp White Vinegar
- 1 tsp Paprika
- 1/2 tsp Onion Powder
- 1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
- 3 cups Sharp Cheddar or American Cheese, shredded
- 32 oz Frozen Tater Tots
- 1 tbsp Sesame Seeds
- 2 cups Iceberg Lettuce, shredded
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef and diced onions, breaking the beef into small crumbles.
- Add the minced garlic, salt, and pepper to the skillet as the beef browns. Once fully cooked, drain the excess grease thoroughly to ensure a crisp base.
- In a small mixing bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, mustard, relish, vinegar, paprika, onion powder, and garlic powder to create the secret sauce.
- Stir half of the sauce into the beef mixture along with the chopped pickles. Mix until the beef is velvety and coated.
- Spread the beef into the bottom of your baking dish in an even layer.
- Evenly sprinkle the shredded cheese over the beef layer, then arrange the frozen tater tots in a single, tight layer across the top.
- Sprinkle sesame seeds over the tots and bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the tater tots reach a golden-brown, shattering crispness.
- Remove from the oven and top with cold shredded iceberg lettuce and the remaining chilled secret sauce immediately before serving.
