Ingredients:
- 1 box (15.25 oz / 432g) Spice Cake Mix
- 1 cup (240ml) Water
- 1/3 cup (75g) Vegetable Oil
- 3 Large Eggs
- 1 can (21 oz / 595g) Apple Pie Filling
- 1 can (14 oz / 397g) Sweetened Condensed Milk
- 1 tsp (5ml) Ground Cinnamon
- 1 cup (240ml) Heavy Whipping Cream
- 1/2 cup (60g) Powdered Sugar
- 1/2 cup (120ml) Store-bought Caramel Sauce
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch pan.
- In a large bowl, combine the spice cake mix, water, oil, and eggs. Beat with a mixer on medium speed for 2 minutes until the batter is smooth.
- Pour the batter into the pan and bake for 28–32 minutes. The cake is done when a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Let the cake cool for exactly 10 minutes.
- Using the handle of a wooden spoon, poke holes across the entire surface of the cake, spacing them about 1 inch apart.
- Pour the sweetened condensed milk evenly over the top, ensuring the liquid fills the holes.
- In a small bowl, stir the ground cinnamon into the apple pie filling. Spread the filling in a thick, even layer over the top of the cake.
- Whip the heavy cream and powdered sugar until stiff peaks form. Spread this over the apple layer.
- Drizzle the warmed caramel sauce in a zig-zag pattern across the cream.
- Refrigerate for at least 2 hours to allow the condensed milk to set and flavors to penetrate the cake.
