Ingredients:
- 1 sheet (480g) frozen puff pastry, thawed
- 1 large (50g) egg, beaten
- 1 tbsp (8g) cinnamon sugar
- 2 cups (440g) canned apple pie filling
- 1/2 cup (60g) powdered sugar
- 1 tbsp (15ml) milk
- 1/4 tsp (1ml) vanilla extract
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Unroll the thawed puff pastry onto the parchment paper. Use a pizza cutter to divide the pastry into 8 equal squares. Lightly score a smaller square inside each piece (about 1/2 inch from the edge) without cutting all the way through.
- Spoon 2-3 tablespoons (30-45g) of apple pie filling into the center of each square, pushing it slightly to create a well. Gently pinch the corners of the pastry toward the center to secure the filling.
- Brush the exposed edges of the pastry with the beaten egg wash and sprinkle the cinnamon sugar over the apple filling.
- Bake for 15–18 minutes until the pastry is puffed and deep golden-brown and the filling is bubbling.
- While danishes cool slightly, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth. Drizzle the glaze in a zigzag pattern over each warm pastry.
